From Panic to Alignment
Navigating Crisis Through the Heart-Voice-Mind Connection
The triskellion, the triple spiral, is a great example of the power of an open heart, voice and mind, working as one.
I was scrolling through YouTube Shorts the other day when a nineteen-second clip completely stopped me in my tracks. It was a raw, split-second moment of sudden chaos, and it perfectly captured the exact mechanics of human instinct, calm under pressure, and the absolute mess that can happen, when you don't have alignment.
The Example
As an earthquake hits their building, you watch three completely different levels of consciousness, a boy his mother and their dog, react in real time. It is the ultimate visual proof that the connection between your heart, your voice, and your mind isn’t just spiritual theory—it is your built-in radar for survival and mastery.
We like to think we know how we will react in a crisis. We imagine ourselves as the hero who steps up, thinks fast, and saves the day. But when the ground literally or metaphorically shakes, a hidden internal network takes over. In those split seconds, your survival does not depend on your intellect alone. It depends on the alignment between your heart, your voice, and your mind.
When a sudden threat appears, different levels of human and animal consciousness react in real time. Understanding these reactions reveals the difference between being ruled by raw instinct and achieving true internal mastery.,
The Four States of Survival Response
To understand human behavior under pressure, we have to look at the spectrum of how we process fear.
1. The Reptilian Response of the Dog
Animals live in the immediate moment. When a tremor hits, the dog feels it and knows something is wrong. Yet, without a refined intellect, fear paralyzes the animal. It lacks the sense to seek shelter under a table because it is entirely ruled by the terror of the current second. This is the unrefined reptilian brain at work: pure, overwhelming sensation with a total disconnect between the heart's alarm and the mind's executive function.
2. The Conflicted Impulse - the Mother
Human instincts are powerful, but without clarity, they can be dangerous. Consider a mother who throws herself into harm's way to protect the family dog, inadvertently risking her own life and her child’s life.
Her heart is in the right place—she wants to protect. However, because fear has hijacked her mind, her priorities are blurred. This heart-to-mind disconnect causes people to make rash, emotional choices that create more danger instead of solving the problem.
3. Common Sense
Common sense is our everyday logic. It helps us pay bills, navigate traffic, and make reasonable life choices. But common sense is slow. It relies on analysis, weighing options, and past data. In a life-or-death situation, relying purely on cognitive common sense creates a fatal delay. By the time your logical mind processes the danger, the window for action has closed.
4. Mastery: The Heart-Voice-Mind Connection instincts - The Boy
Then there is the boy. He feels the tremor, instantly knows what it means, and moves. He acts decisively before anyone else in the room has even registered the threat. He warns his mother. They get under the table in time. This is mastery. There is no panic, no hesitation, and no calculation. The heart senses, the mind directs, and the body executes in perfect harmony.
The Myth of the Open Heart As a Liability
Many people mistake an open heart for weakness. They believe that being highly sensitive or empathetic makes them foolish, a doormat, or a reckless risk-taker.
In reality, an open heart is the height of discernment.
When your heart is open and connected to your mind, you develop an emotional radar. You are able to KNOW what is coming before it arrives. This integration means you know your truth, you understand your feelings, and you master your mind. They all communicate fluently with one another because you have done the deep internal work to strip away the distorting lens of fear.
When fear inevitably arrives, it doesn't paralyze you or cause you to panic. Instead, it acts as a catalyst that sharpens your focus, allows you to think with absolute clarity, and move accordingly.
Heart-Voice-Mind Connection
With a strong heart-voice-mind connection, you gain the sovereignty to make choices for your own life, your own safety, and your own future.
Open your heart, open your voice, and open your mind. When these three elements work as one, you transition from simply surviving the world to masterfully navigating it and creating it.
